Last two pages for Kate's Art Journalling class

Before the family gets here, I wanted to post these last two pages before the end of Kate's class: wonderful five weeks with plenty of new friends and lots of help and advice from a very generous teacher: Thanks Kate, I'll be looking for more of your classes!

I found a lot of "good" excuses for not sketching for a few days lately because of Christmas shopping; but on the way back home this evening , the sunset had glorious colours I tried to remember !

Daily Journal

A day to remember, not all inspiring, but the result was OK and thanks to Kate's class I now tend to think writing down all memories is a good way to make the most of every moment and give back a proper "dimension" to events I would otherwise consider as negative or not important.

My last page in my Daily Journal

I wanted to try drawing faces and bodies so I went to "Posemaniacs.com", thanks to somebody's advice (sorry I don't remember the name) but I found it difficult to keep the correct proportions! Anyway here is the result with Derwent colour pencils in my Moleskine WC sketchbook..

Artist Journal + 2 other paintings

That's th watercolour painting I finished on Sunday for tha watercolour class.

I finally managed to finish this acrylics painting I had started a few months ago

I kept sneezing all weekend and spent a lot of time running for my tissue box !
But since the weather was awful again, it was good staying warm at home to sketch and paint.

Monthly Sketch Project - December (1a)

Since I was the one who sent this photo of a fountain in the South of France, I thought it was right for me to sketch it ! But instead of doing it with ink and colour, this time I decided to use Derwent Inktense and Derwent Graphitone watercolour pencils (except for the background). Of course the likeness (as far as colours are concerned) is not absolutely correct but it was worth a try !

More work for the Art Journal class

I've spent a lot of time sketching and painting lately.
So here are two pages of my work: testing different tools.

EDM # 250 and 251

Secure in my home, away from the grey sky and the rain, that's the best time to sketch!

Art Journal

I subscribed to Cathy Johnson Art Journal class but for the last two weeks I didn't manage to really start the journal itself though I had things written and sketches done. This morning I decided this was THE day.. and I posted 19 pages( !!!) of my journal !! I'll just show you a sample .
The rest is on Flickr.. If you have time to spend... It's all yours here.. !!

Two "old" objects I like..

EDM # 247 Something creepy

A crane fly (daddy longlegs) is always creepy for me: I know it's not dangerous but I can't stand it when they come inside and fly about the room -always near me (too bad for them, then !!!)

Another really creepy thing for me at the moment : this private hospital where I'll undergo medical investigations next week... Stressful..

I used ink to sketch these trees with no leaves left on them (for the Randocroquis November challenge).
